Professor Moshe Flaishman
Professor Moshe Flai

Chief expert of the Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) of the Ministry of Agriculture of Israel, member of the International Society for Horticultural Science (ISHS), president of the ISHS Fig Branch, specially-invited expert of the China Fig Industry Alliance, and expert of Weihai Accelerate Fig Biotech R & D Center. 

Professor Moshe is a senior expert of ARO, Israel. He is mainly engaged in the research of planting and cultivation technology of deciduous fruit trees in a hot climate in combination with physiological, biochemical, molecular and genetic methods, the research of internal and environmental control mechanisms for reproductive development of perennial plants, the breeding technology of improving fruit quality and disease resistance of trees, the gardening application, as well as the production and breeding technology of sustainable trees, and has conducted a lot of in-depth researches on apples, pears, peaches and figs. His work focus is developing and popularizing new varieties of figs which have been used in Israel and all parts of the world for a long time by means of the application of genome editing and the transcriptional analysis on fig fruits in the fruit ripening process. In addition, he has successfully developed a plurality of brand-new varieties of fresh figs.

Professor of the Department of Horticulture, Agricultural Faculty, Akdeniz University, Turkey, agricultural engineer, specially-invited expert of the China Fig Industry Alliance, and expert of Weihai Accelerate Fig Biotech R & D Center.

Professor Nilda Ersoy is mainly engaged in the research of gene forms of European agricultural organisms, as well as biochemical characteristics, phytochemical diversity, vegetative propagation technology, and fruit preservation. She published more than one hundred research papers in related fields in dozens of academic journals worldwide.

Professor Ma Huiqin
Professor Ma Huiqin

She served as the Secretary to President of the President’s Office, China Agricultural University, chair professor of wine at Ecole Superieure d’Agriculture d’Angers, coordinator of Chinese Projects of China-Netherlands International Gardening Projects, and chair professor of University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria. 

Now, she serves as a professor of the Department of Fruit Trees, School of Agriculture and Biotechnology, China Agricultural University, deputy secretary-general of the Grape and Wine Branch, China Association of Agricultural Science Societies, director of the Specialized Committee of Wine, Grape and Wine Branch, China Association of Agricultural Science Societies, specially-invited expert of the China Fig Industry Alliance, and expert of Weihai Accelerate Fig Biotech R & D Center. 

Besides, she holds a concurrent post at the international academic magazine WINE ECONOMY POLICY as an editorial board member in Asia. Her main research fields include: viticulture and molecular biology, fig cultivation and molecular biology, wine marketing, as well as fig marketing.

Professor Wei Qifeng
Professor Wei Qifeng

Wei Qifeng, doctor, professor and PhD student supervisor of Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai. 

He is mainly engaged in the research of separation science and engineering, and has won two Second Prizes for Provincial / Ministerial Progress in Science and Technology, with five industrial production lines. Besides, he is a member of the Chinese Chemical Society, expert of the national scientific and technological achievement information platform—www.kjcg.cn, review expert of Scientific and Technological Achievements of Shandong Province, review expert of the Science and Technology Project Plan of Shandong Province, and expert of Weihai Accelerate Fig Biotech R & D Center. 

He has chaired and participated in a number of national, provincial and municipal scientific research projects, and applied for six patents. His completed and under-research projects include the “Study on Electro-Oxidation of Cerium (III) to Cerium (IV) and Simultaneous Deposition of Copper Powder in Ionic Membrane Electrochemical Reaction”, the “Study on Cobalt Concentration in Roasting and Leaching Solution of Cobalt-Sulfur Concentrates”, the “Oxidation Pretreatment and Integrated Recycling of Gold Concentrate”, the “Synthesis of Spherical Ni(OH)2 by Liquid Membrane Method”, the “Applied Research of Environmental Bioremediation Technology in Marine Culture”, a total of more than 10 projects. He has published more than 20 research papers, one of which has been included in SCI, six of which has been included in EI, and won the First Prize of the 2007 Excellent Paper for Technological Innovation of Shandong Province, as well as the First Prize and Second Prize of the Excellent Education Research Paper for 2015 Academic Annual Conference awarded by the Heilongjiang Association of Higher Education.

Professor Ren Xiulian
Professor Ren Xiulia

Ren Xiulian, doctor, professor and PhD student supervisor of the Institute of Advanced Separation and Synthesis Technology, Harbin Institute of Technology, Weihai. 

She is mainly engaged in the research of separation science & technology and integrated utilization of resources, electrolytic separation technology of ionic membranes, as well as green chemical processes and products. As one of the young and middle-aged experts with outstanding contributions in Weihai, she won the honorary title of March Eighth Red Banner Pacesetter of Universities in Shandong, and the Diamond Award for the 2011 Most Influential Economic Figure of the Year of Weihai. Besides, she is an expert of Weihai Accelerate Fig Biotech R & D Center. 

She has chaired and participated in more than 20 projects, including the National 863 Program projects, the hi-tech industrialization projects of Shandong Province, the major scientific and technological projects of Shandong Province, the scientific and technological breakthrough projects of Shandong Province, the scientific and technological breakthrough projects of Weihai City, as well as the scientific and technological breakthrough projects of medium and large enterprises. Four of his scientific research results have passed the provincial / municipal scientific and technological achievement appraisal. Among them, the “Key Technology Research and Application of Lactic Acid Industrialization” won the Second Prize for National Progress in Science and Technology. The technology has fully improved the production technology level of China’s lactic acid industry, and thoroughly broken the foreign monopoly of the technology. Besides, it provides a high-quality and low-price raw material for large-scale production of polylactic acid, accelerates the industrialization process of the polylactic acid industry, and opens up a new path for solving “white pollution”. The “New Technology R & D and Industrialized Application of Sodium Lactate Produced by Coupling Adsorption” won the Second Prize for Provincial / Ministerial Progress in Science and Technology, and achieved outstanding results in the aspects of integrated utilization of resources, as well as energy conservation and emission reduction, with significant economic and social benefits. The new technology of extraction and purification – “New Technology R & D and Application of Preparing High-Quality Lactic Acid by Directional Fractionation and Purification” won the Second Prize for Provincial / Ministerial Progress in Science and Technology, removed the original activated carbon decolorization and most of hybridization processes, increased product purity and yield by 2% and 8% respectively, and reduced the waste acid-base discharge by 90%, the water discharge by 60% and the activated carbon emission by 100%. The technology is internationally leading.

Professor Zhang Zide
Professor Zhang Zide

Director of the Department of Food Science and Engineering, Hebei Agricultural University, vice president of the Hebei Association of Refrigeration, chairman of the Third Specialized Committee, Hebei Association of Refrigeration, chief expert of the Baoding Science & Technology Expert Workstation, specially-invited expert of the China Fig Industry Alliance, vice president of the Fig Industry Association of Baoding, and expert of Weihai Accelerate Fig Biotech R & D Center. 

During his work, the research team led by him has chaired seven national / provincial / departmental / municipal research projects, took charge of ten research projects, participated in four research projects, won a plurality of rewards, and obtained three national patents for invention. Besides, he has completed a lot of scientific research projects such as the technology development and industrialization demonstration of pollution-free commercialization processing of high-quality fruits and vegetables, the key technology research of chestnut storage and processing, the storage and preservation technology of fresh Zanhuang dates, the vacuum freezing & drying production process of strawberries, the air-conditioned storage and preservation technology of winter dates, the development of cider and pear wine, the processing technology of clarified fruit juice, the development of chestnut wine, as well as the development of peanut & almond juice. He has published 98 papers in academic journals at home and abroad; worked as the editor-in-chief and associate editor-in-chief respectively for one textbook in the “11th Five-Year Plan” of higher institutions nationwide, and compiled seven works as the editor-in-chief, associate editor-in-chief and coeditor. 

Award-winning record: The air-conditioned storage and preservation technology of winter dates won the Third Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Hebei Province. The development of Dimei smoke agent won the Third Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Hebei Province. The processing and application technology of beef products won the Second Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Hebei Province. The vacuum compound preservation technology of beef won the First Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of the Hebei Education Department. The production process research of clarified fruit juice won the Second Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of the Hebei Department of Forestry. The development of taurine almond juice won the First Prize for Progress in Science and Technology of Baoding City. In addition, he has been awarded such titles as the Excellent Teacher of Hebei Agricultural University, the Advanced Individual for “Model Setting, Creation, and Contribution” of Baoding City, as well as the Excellent Science Popularization Worker of Baoding City. His research fields in the current stage mainly include: fig preservation and fig fruit processing technology, as well as other fruit processing and preservation technology.

Professor Chen Shangwu

Research direction: food science and biotechnology; functional dairy products; probiotics and probiotic mechanisms.

He has undertaken and participated in five projects concerning the “11th Five-Year” and “12th Five-Year” National Sci-Tech Support Plan and the “863” Program, including the preparation and industrialized development of new dairy products, and the key technology research (sub-project research) on application of milk-based materials and accessories to infant milk powder; chaired and participated in six projects under the National Natural Science Foundation of China, received six provincial / ministerial scientific and technical awards, with six awards for scientific and technological achievements granted by the Ministry of Education; compiled two publications, published more than 150 research papers as the first author or corresponding author, including more than 40 SCI papers, and has been granted more than 12 patents for invention.

 The main research field of Professor Xiao Hongmei includes post-harvest treatment technology and preservation technology of fruits. She has conducted long-term researches on fig fruit quality, pre-harvest & post-harvest technology of figs, and fresh fig preservation technology in Artux, Xinjiang, and achieved fruitful results. As one of the top experts engaged in fig research in China, she has cultivated a large number of postgraduate students focusing on fig-oriented research.
